So I’ve been trying to work on another True Disciple song, switching up some of the themes originally included, BUT it didn’t quite work out in the end. Seeing as the expectations for such songs are also really high, I don’t want to risk giving you anything mediocre.
Instead, I’ll announce the results of the votingtoday. In case you forgot, we had a voting going on on YouTube which project I should do this year, either the next installment of VG Arch Rivals or another Sounds Alike. The results are pretty clear, as you can see:
Now that we have the results, why wait? If all goes according to plan, we’ll start with the first song of VG Arch Rivals Vol. 4 next Sunday. I hope to see you then!
It’s been 2 and a half years since the last Disciple Month and only recently I got the idea of making what you’re about to hear.
In the original Disciple of Time many people wondered why Primal Dialga, the definition of time for Poképersons, wasn’t included. My reasoning back then was that it was already included in Disciple of the Light.
Obviously the Pokémon that represents time would fit much better in Dsiciple of Time than Light, no? Well, the thing is: Light came first. And at that moment, there was no indication that I’d ever follow up with something like Disciple of Time. Uh, decisions, right?
Well now I can stop bugging myself with that as you now have an alternative version that actually includes Primal Dialga – True Disciple of Time. The Extreme and Dark Impetus had to be sacrificed for that to happen – but you understand that, right?
Other than that there are some very minor adjustments I made, but nothing worth mentioning I guess. So without any further delay, let’s hear it:
And here we got the video, check out that new logo:
Do you like the new logo FictionalCanvas made? I still have to put that everywhere and who knows how long it’s gonna take for it to actually show up for everyone (caching and such).
Aside from that, I’m currently having a hard time motivating myself to work on new stuff. I’m trying to get out of this inspirational hole before the next big project begins, don’t forget to vote on what it should be here. We’re using YouTube’s new poll feature for that – it’s pretty simplistic, but it works pretty well so far.
There’s no excuse, I’ve just been lazy and wasn’t able to finish the new song in time.
I have two weeks off now so I’ll have lots of time to work on the new song and the X-Mas Mix. The plan is to upload this year’s X-Mas Mix on Sunday – it’s gonna be another Snowboard Kids remix like White Magic, that much I can say.
I already made quite some progress on the other song, which doesn’t even really have a name yet (in case you’re wondering, it’s running under the working title ‘Release the Bogus 2017’ – that’s simply random and NOT related to Punch Out though). I’ll upload it when it’s done. Deadline is the end of the year of course! Anyway, here’s a preview:
The last song included lots of “shouts” (“Thu’um”) and at least one person thought the song would be more enjoyable without that. Since that was easy to do and I don’t mind having multiple versions of a song, here you go:
I know some of you have been checking this website to look for the latest song that was scheduled for today – and now that there’s nothing here, you’re probably wondering what’s going on, right?
Well the thing is: working with vocals is hard! (…not DK Rap-like vocals, that’s fairly easy – I mean actual singing) It certainly didn’t help that I was feeling tired and not motivated at all the whole week…so I won’t be able to finish the song and video today, I can only give you a little preview.
Fire Emblem Warriors is coming out in about two weeks, so I wanted to make a song for that (although I’m personally not too excited for the game at all). Luckily that means there is still some time to make this song – but my schedule will probably get messed up…
Actually it’s more a lucky coincidence though, since I had the vocals for Lost in Thoughts All Alone lying around for a while. They are not absolutely clean (it’s more a hack where you subtract the instrumental version from the song), but for what it is, it’s pretty good. But since there is still a bit of noise in the background of the singing, getting the mixing right is even more difficult than it already is. I just want the song to turn out as good as possible – well, as good as I can make it.
So here we go, I’ll just show you what I have so far:
preview version of Waves of Eternity
Be aware that this is a beta version and that I might change sounds and whole parts of the song if I feel that it’s better that way. My goal is to finish the song before next Sunday. Since I’m working during the week I can’t do that much – but I’ll try.
And since we’re here…did you notice something? I gave the website a new look, I hope you like it as much as I do!
Still no Metroid! What is this insanity! Here’s some backstory:
I finally finished all of my Wii U games and was able to get my Switch ready (maybe you’ve read about that in the last few lines on the last upload?). Since then I’ve been absorbed in playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild lately and dang, there’s so much to see! The only thing that left me a little disappointed so far was the absence of any memorable tunes, aside from some familiar re-appearances like Epona’s Song. I guess the background music is supposed to not distract you from your adventure…but that kinda worked for Wind Waker, that game had lots of memorable songs. But I haven’t nearly seen everything, so I’ll not give up hope just yet!
Anyway, enough Zelda. Now that you know the background, this song is something I threw together rather quickly, although I had the idea itself a good while ago. The Darkness part of Ultimate Elemental Being featured Miracle Matter and 0², and I wanted to see if I could turn that into its own song. Turns out I can – it was actually quite a lot of fun working on this and we haven’t had a Disciple-like song in ages anyway, so I hope you like the result too!
The mix itself is rather uncertain what it is. It’s kind of dark, epic and upbeat at the same time. It works for me – but what about you?
You were probably expecting a new song today (and rightly so) but I have to admit I’m not quite done yet. The song I teased last week didn’t really go very well, so I started to work on something else yesterday. That song is much closer to completion, but I still want to give it some time to grow. Let me share what I have so far:
It’s a remake of The Snippet Mutants from 2012. I was never really able to get the mixing right on that one, now I’m giving it another try. And it already sounds more like I wanted it to sound. I hope I can finish it by next Sunday, so I can fix all those things that are still bothering me.
