You were probably expecting a new song today (and rightly so) but I have to admit I’m not quite done yet. The song I teased last week didn’t really go very well, so I started to work on something else yesterday. That song is much closer to completion, but I still want to give it some time to grow. Let me share what I have so far:
It’s a remake of The Snippet Mutants from 2012. I was never really able to get the mixing right on that one, now I’m giving it another try. And it already sounds more like I wanted it to sound. I hope I can finish it by next Sunday, so I can fix all those things that are still bothering me.
There are some questions that arise rather frequently. There are questions I don’t want to answer every time they’re asked.
The solution: An FAQ. I usually answer questions I get via message or contact form, but lots of comments on YouTube stay unanswered. If you are among those people who asked a question and never got a reply, maybe you’ll find your answer here.
That’s all I wanted to cover today, the next song should be ready next Sunday. Expect a remake of this song.
Now here’s a song I started a good while ago and finally finished it: Fysis Oikein Eidolon!
It’s a remix of the F.O.E. battle theme in Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth called…F.O.E. (surprise!). In Persona Q, the abbreviation stands for Fysis Oikein Eidolon, which is pseudo-Greek for “Holy shit, what the hell is that?” or something…I think~
I have to wonder why they invented a different name for that abbreviation in this game since it already stands for (depending on where you live) Formido Oppugnatura Exsequens or Foedus Obrepit Errabundus (actual Latin) in the Etrian Odyssey games…I guess the Persona people are just too hip to roll with the standards?
Today we’re paying tribute to the king of monsters, Godzilla. But what’s that…! A challenger appeared! Now let us find out who’s most worthy of the title Monster King!
To sum it up, this song is a fast, rocky remix of the Godzilla Main Theme and Dark Bowser from Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story.
The song was actually made one or two (or more?) years ago, but I never really uploaded it, because…because. I tried to turn this one into a more or less electro-rock arrangement and used my magic to include the Bowser tune as well. The only thing left to do was fixing some parts of the song and finalizing it. You’ll still notice that it’s a bit older though…
As usual you’ll find the video and download below. Want to show your appreciation? Donate!
So, digging up old stuff instead of making new songs, eh? Well, you know, Fire Emblem Fates just came out here…
Also some of you might have noticed already, FictionalCanvas (formerly known as VanishingSVST) made a new icon:
And it looks super cool. It replaces/will replace the old one showing Joe in his Touhou-reference outfit playing on his keyboard. Because I don’t do that. Usually. Instead, Joe now has those fancy gauntlets. And the hair now forms a musical note. Like a pro~
In case you’re still reading, Imma tell you what I’m currently working on (when not working or playing FE Fates): Quite a few remakes of really cool, but rather old songs, like Song of Gods and Echoes from the Past. Also, a Hyperdimension Neptunia Battle Medley kind of thing and a Persona Q remix. Certainly stuff to look forward to, I’d say!
Thanks to your constant support, I received a little bandcamp upgrade. To celebrate, ALLof my stuff on bandcamp will be available for freefor a limited amount of time! Well, downloads. 1,000 to be exact, so let’s see how long that lasts.
So what are you waiting for? Check out my album projects here or visit my bandcamp page directly. “Any suggestions”, you ask? Of course, here are some really good ones:
*includes hidden bonus Track Shooting Star Punch (Donkey Kong vs Little Mac)
Today I was going to upload another song as usual. However, there is a SLIGHT problem…
…you guessed it. I don’t have anything finished yet. I started quite a few new songs (some of them actually quite promising), but I’m taking my time with them. Aside from the fact that I didn’t really finish anything, there was another reason I was set back. A more technical reason actually. I kinda had a feeling that I’m limiting the potential of my songs and looked up some advice for mixing and stuff and learned one or two new tricks. Nothing ground-breaking I gotta admit, but it definitely helped me to see where my focus should be.
With that said, the next song I have planned is actually a remake, which is also number 2 on my unofficial list of “Year of the Monkey mixes”. I believe I should change the name of the song though…
Now the fun thing is, aside from the Boss theme from DK Land (you know I love that one) and Gangplank Galleon, the song features an unused track, meant for the K. Rool battle in DK Land. And it’s actually pretty damn catchy:
I hope I can make something really cool out of it by next Sunday. I hope you’re looking forward to it!
As you know, there’s quite a bit of stuff on my bandcamp page now. As you might also know, there’s only 200 free downloads per month. And, as you might have noticed: they’re usually gone in a few days. So we’re gonna change that up a bit.
Starting today, there will be about 2 bandcamp objects available for free, so the free downloads won’t go away that fast. We’re starting with the oldest stuff, I think most of you don’t even have that yet: Wrath of the Underlings Vol.1&2. Those are the biggest album projects on my bandcamp page, with 15+ tracks each. They are based mainly on regular battle themes and (non-final) boss battle themes, for example: VS Sylux (‘Shock Coil’), Final Fantasy IV Battle 2 (‘Boss Rush’), Lord Woo Fak Fak (‘Lord Woo Fak Bounce’), Rigid Paradise (‘Egyptian Zombie’), Popple Battle (‘Return of the Brilliant Thief’) and the G/S/C Gym Leader tune (‘Taking the Lead’).
