The Forge of Evil

The return of the evil blacksmith: here’s The Forge of Evil [Blacksmith Edit]!

This is a remake of the song The Forge of Evil from 2011, featuring only songs from Super Mario RPG. Like the original, the Blacksmith Edit features Smithy Battle 1 & 2 as well as Beware the Forest’s Mushrooms (aka Forest Maze), BUT the Boss Theme has been replaced by an original part because I felt the boss tune kinda ruined the flow (although the more unrelated Forest Maze surprisingly doesn’t…).

Of course the whole mixing is entirely different (quite an upgrade I would say, but who am I to judge) and I also added some extra percussion to add to the flow. And now it’s about time you listened to it:

And here’s the video, how do you like the new template?

This might be one of my favorite songs this year. As for the next one, it’s gonna be super random. I’m literally just throwing things together for that one…

Fysis Oikein Eidolon

Now here’s a song I started a good while ago and finally finished it: Fysis Oikein Eidolon!

It’s a remix of the F.O.E. battle theme in Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth called…F.O.E. (surprise!). In Persona Q, the abbreviation stands for Fysis Oikein Eidolon, which is pseudo-Greek for “Holy shit, what the hell is that?” or something…I think~

I have to wonder why they invented a different name for that abbreviation in this game since it already stands for (depending on where you live) Formido Oppugnatura Exsequens or Foedus Obrepit Errabundus (actual Latin) in the Etrian Odyssey games…I guess the Persona people are just too hip to roll with the standards?

As for the video, I took some time to change things up a bit. I wanted to keep it simple and yet I still hit a few obstacles along the way…but at least I think it looks better now~

Next up we have a remake of a song from 2011 that still seems to attract some attention (not a LOT…it’s not the Fire Emblem song, just so you know). I’m eager to hear what you think about it~

Night of the Skeleton

It’s the spookiest time of the year again, so brace yourself for this year’s Halloween Mix: Night of the Skeleton!

Aside from the ominous intro and some sound effects, the song is actually pretty upbeat. But that’s to be expected from funky songs such as Bonetrousle (Undertale), Spooky Scary Skeletons (by Andrew Gold) and Gruntilda’s Lair (Banjo Kazooie; you remember how Gruntilda was a skeleton in the sequel? that counts!). Add some Betus Blues (Super Meat Boy) and there you go. I always wanted to remix Betus Blues in some way, I like that song a lot.

I’m making it a tradition that I’m super lazy for the Halloween video and basically only put the thumbnail. I guess I should at least tell you when which song plays:

0:00 ominous intro with Flowey laugh
0:06 Bonetrousle
1:18 Spooky Scary Skeletons
2:31 Betus Blues
3:30 Gruntilda’s Lair
4:02 Bonetrousle
4:50 Spooky Scary Skeletons

I’ll see you again in 2 weeks. Until then: Happy Spaghetti! (Happy Halloween!)
