Monado Legend 2022

After taking my time to chill a bit after finishing the Best of album for the previous 2 years, I can finally present a new remake – Monado Legend 2022. Although I initially had plans for a different song, I listened to the original mix from 2016 a few weeks ago while driving home from work and felt I could definitely upgrade it a bit.

It sure wasn’t easy, because it was rather loud, the mixing was all over the place. So the goal was to clean it up a bit, but not remove any energy from the song and change some of the instruments. I actually ended up changing a lot of the instruments and added a few new parts, but I also went nuts with some additional voice lines from Reyn and Shulk. Because I know that might put some people off, I also offer an alternate version without the voice lines:

So what’s next? Well…Elden Ring comes out next week and you can be sure that I’ll spend a ton of time playing that game. So be prepared for some possible delays in the next few weeks…

Best of DJ the S 2020 & 2021

It sure took a while, but the it’s finally here: Best of DJ the S 2020 & 2021!

Because there weren’t a lot of songs in 2020, I didn’t make a Best of album back then, but they were included in this album for good measure.

As usual I tried to upgrade the songs a bit for the album, so many songs underwent some more or less subtle changes compared to the songs I uploaded. I can’t remember which ones though, you’ll just have to go through the playlist and listen for yourself šŸ˜‰

I also uploaded a video for one of the bonus tracks – Meta Battle 2021 – which is a remake of Meta Battle from Sounds Alike Vol. 1. The other bonus tracks are alternate versions of songs, including a hidden alternate version of Eggman vs Sonic 2021. Here’s the video:

And that concludes 2021, a little later than I’d want, but still according to the planned schedule. I don’t really know what’s next, but I have quite a few ideas. Since Disciple of the Storm was so well-received, I might remake a few songs of the first Disciple Month this year. But for now I’ll go and play a bit more of the new PokĆ©mon game šŸ˜‰

Igniting the Fire

While I’m still working on finishing the Best of DJ the S 2020 & 2021 album, I’ll share with you a song that will be on the album and still counts as a 2021 song, although I just finished it – because it is basically an instrumental version of the last song.

Igniting the Fire offers a lot of changes and variations compared to my Let There Be Fire Remix, because I felt it would be rather repetitive without the vocals. As it is, it stands as its own song, because it really mixes things up. As the previous one, it still features the backing and melody of Let There Be Fire by Aviators, Divine Identity (aka Brahman) from Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 2 and Stone Tower Temple from The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask.

I made some good progress on the album already, there are only a few songs left to prepare. The plan is to release the album by the end of January – shouldn’t be too hard now, right?
