X-Mas Fantasia

Merry Christmas everyone!

What’s going on? Another X-Mas Mix?! Well, more or less. This song is actually a few years old already (I think it’s from 2012), but I never released it. I gave it a listen a few days ago and felt that it’s finally time to officially upload it.

The song itself is a Touhou medley with a Christmas vibe although it doesn’t include any ice-related songs like you would expect (no Cirno, no Letty…). Instead, the song focuses on Yukari’s theme Necrofantasia, while it obviously includes several other Touhou songs (even 2 fire-related themes!).

The song actually started as a Eurobeat remix, which the genre I was messing around with at that time. You can still hear a bit of that in the song.

X-Mas Mix – Ice Beam

And it’s that time of the year again! Get out your lil’ Santa hats and turn on those Christmas decoration lights~

While (or rather because) it’s still more or less green outside, I decided to use a theme this year, which comes from a place with a lot of snow and ice: Phendrana Drifts from Metroid Prime.

Although the initial idea was QUITE different, Ice Beam turned out to be a rather peaceful and soothing song. I was even able to include a bit of Tallon Overworld 2. If I didn’t tell you, I’m sure most of you wouldn’t even have noticed.

As for the video, it’s pretty similar to the last one. I actually wanted to have some nice effects with snow and such, but I don’t think I have the means to do that yet. Maybe next year~

Into the Desert

And finally, you get that Gerudo Valley remix you might have been waiting for!

Into the Desert is mainly a remix of Gerudo Valley from…do I even need to say it? The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, of course. That song already has so many remixes flying around on the internet that it is quite difficult to make something that still stands out. I hope you weren’t expecting too much…

Personally, I always loved the theme…until a while ago. I’ve heard so many remixes and arrangements of it already, the tune kinda lost its charm over the years. So, to spice things up, this song also includes the theme of Koume and Kotake, the two old hags which fused together to form Twinrova, the boss of the Spirit Temple. They also appeared in Majora’s Mask with that theme. We also have a bit of Requiem of Spirit, the ocarina song which would transport you to the Spirit temple. Very desert-themed, you see~

Including the theme of the old hags was actually my friend’s idea. I believe you’ve read that name a lot of times already: VanishingSVST. I instantly knew it would work. Gotta love that catchy tune~

As for the video itself, I invested in an upgrade of my video software and purchased a plug-in for it so I could reach the next level, at least visually. What you see in the video took me the whole day to make…a weekend well spent! I might still be able to improve it a lil’ bit for future projects/add some more stuff, but I hope you can appreciate it for now~
