If you’re here, then you know what time it is: It’s time for the Halloween Mix 2025 – and this time you’re trapped in a scary (?) forest in Night in the Forest.
And while I’ll say right away that it’s not really scary, we got a lot of forest-related themes in this mix for sure:
These are all the tunes that appear in the song, in order of appearance:
Forest Interlude – Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest
Upper Brinstar – Super Metroid
Greenhorn Forest – Wario World
Haunted Woods – Diddy Kong Racing
Deku Palace – The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask
The Road of the Apotropaic God ~ Dark Road – Touhou 10: Mountain of Faith
Beware the Forest’s Mushrooms – Super Mario RPG
Can’t forget the video, seems like Hina found a curious doll:
And that’s our Halloween mix, folks. If you’re wondering if I have some kind of schedule again, I’ll try and upload one song per month. So if things go as planned, I’ll have something ready by the end of November.
Some called him dead, but some were still holding onto hope. And just like K. Rool, I’m back with a new song to celebrate the king of the kremlings – The Kremling Krew Returns.
In truth, I didn’t really feel like working on music much these past few months. I did a little bit here and there, but nothing worth showing off. However, as the spooky time approaches, I felt an itching in my fingers – surely we’re gonna need something for Halloween, right? But better to see if I still got it first.
I just hope you didn’t expect me to improve by leaps and bounds in the meantime – although I did a little bit of research on what I can improve, in the end there is just one realization: no one makes music quite like me (for better or for worse), so I’ll just do what I do. Which is starting with a general idea and then go with the flow until something comes out that sounds good to me. And in this case, it sounds like this:
The song mainly contains Gangplank Galleon from Donkey Kong Country, but also a little bit of Crocodile Cacophony from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest.
Maybe you want some visuals to go along with it – all done with FL Studio’s ZGameEditor Visualizer, which I’m growing quite fond of:
There are certain times during the year where it becomes necessary to make something. Today is such a day. A day where kings are fools and fools are kings. A day where brown is the new black. A day to flush down all that doesn’t belong from your system.
And that is what today’s song is all about. I present: Sloprano Drift.
This fast track to brown town is a remix of Sloprano from Conker’s Bad Fur Day. After Technoprano and Dirty Business, this marks the third time the song has appeared in a mix – although this is the first time it actually features vocals.
The vocals are by yours truly – although I had to adjust them quite a bit, because I couldn’t get the notes right even slightly. But that’s alright, because now you get some techy robo vocals. It was hell to mix them in though.
As usual, there’s a video to go along with the song. I tried out a different format this time, trying to make it look similar to how OC ReMix presents songs nowadays:
And that’s your April Fools treat for the year, I hoped you liked it 😉
In other news, I’ve been following my wish of making a video game, which is part of the reason for the recent radio silence (the other part is me being lazy and playing video games instead). I’m still learning and figuring out how things work, so it will still be a long time until I’m ready to show anything though. However, I am determined to get it done eventually – and a video game needs some fancy music too, so there will be a soundtrack to go along with it by yours truly.
I’m not sure yet how I’ll go about releasing the music before the game is finished, so don’t expect anything anytime soon – but there might be some sneak peeks as the release draws closer 😉
As for other videos, there will likely be more radio silence ahead, in the absolute worst case until Halloween, but who knows – there might be one or two videos here and there before we get to our favorite time of the year. Either way, I’d be happy to see you around next time as well! 🙂
