I managed to pull it off after all, just in time for the spookiest time of the year! today I present you a Halloween Megamix: Halloween Mayhem 2018!

Some of you may still remember a similar thing I did 4 years ago, where I would make a medley of all the Halloween mixes I did so far. This is somewhat of an update, building upon the 2014 version – however, it only includes Halloween mixes which start with “Night of …” (also Mad Monster Mansion for an epic ending).

That means, this song references the following Halloween mixes:

• Night of the Dullahan (2013)
• Night of the Werewolf (2014)
• Night of the Poltergeist (2015)
• Night of the Skeleton (2016)
• Night of the Spider (2017) – nice >:]
• Night of the Demon (2018)

I really like how this one turned out. I was thinking I should make these Mayhem mixes every 4 years or so. Next time I could just add some more “Night of …” songs to it, although these songs would get pretty long then~

Well, it’s been a while! I can’t remember ever making such a long break, I’m truly sorry…I had a lot of ideas in the meantime, but executing them turned out to be a problem – good thing Halloween came around to give me the motivation to finally finish another song! I hope I didn’t get too rusty during my downtime…

Today I present the result of our voting and this year’s Halloween Mix: Night of the Demon! As the name suggests, it’s basically a medley focusing on tunes related to demons – I included some of the songs you suggested during the voting period as well. There’s quite a few tunes in there, so here’s the list:

• Memorial of the Fallen Ones (Credits) – Demon’s Crest
• Akuma’s Theme – Super Street Fighter IV version
• At Doom’s Gate – DOOM
• Boss Battle – Shin Megami Tensei II
• Battle Theme – Persona 2: Eternal Punishment
• Demystify Feast – Touhou 7.5: Immaterial and Missing Power (I somehow got that mixed up with Missing Power at first – sorry about that!)
• ASGORE – Undertale

For Akuma’s tune I tried to make it sound a bit more like the SSF IV version, although I found it really difficult to get the notes exactly right. In the end I listened to my version so many times that it just started to sound right – but it might sound a little off to you.

Can’t do without the video of course – note that at the time of upload (and shortly before the first comments arrived) I actually confused the Touhou Theme I used, so it says “Missing Power” instead of “Demystify Feast”. This is incredibly embarrassing, so please forgive me:

Normally I would upload the video around the 31st, but if I can manage to do what I planned, there might be another video by then – no promises though, although I would have some catching up to do…

I’ve been waiting to revisit this song for a while now. In 2011, I made a remix of the Luigi’s Mansion Main Theme called Mansion of Ill Omen – and now it’s back in all its glory! I present: Cursed Mansion!

There really isn’t anything surprising in here that wasn’t in the original. It’s a rather intense, fast take on Luigi’s Mansion‘s main tune – and it doesn’t sound very spooky at all. There’s also some Super Mario Bros. in there somewhere! Alas, that was in the original too. Of course, the instruments are largely different and effects have been adjusted and added to the mix. Also some adjustments in the song itself here and there and different mixing and stuff.

I didn’t spend too much time on this because I originally wanted to finish a different song in time – but it didn’t really work out that well, so I had to come up with an alternative. I think this song is definitely more than just a filler though! My excuse is, that they announced Luigi’s Mansion for the Nintendo 3DS and Luigi’s Mansion 3 for the Nintendo Switch not too long ago~

You know, Luigi’s Mansion is just one of many older Nintendo titles that gets remade or ported or something similar lately. I sometimes think Nintendo likes to remake their older stuff just as much as I do!
