I think it’s been a while since I had something new to share, although today’s medley consists mostly (entirely?) of songs I have included in songs before. Today I present a (mostly) Japanese-themed medley I named Journey to the East!

As is custom for medleys, here’s a list of the songs that appear in it:

• Quicksand Valley – Snowboard Kids
• E. Honda Stage – Street Fighter II
• Crash – Ninja Gaiden Sigma
• Yamato Man Stage – Mega Man 6
• The Steel Samurai: Warrior of Neo Olde Tokyo – Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

So about Quicksand Valley. Snowboard Kids DOES have a stage called Ninja Land, but it doesn’t have its own theme – it shares its BGM with the first course of the game, Rookie Mountain. And although that song is also cool, I really wanted to use this opportunity to have Quicksand Valley in a song again, it’s such a banger tune (although pretty much the entire OST of Snowboard Kids is a banger, but I really like this one in particular). And that’s where the mostly Japanese-themed comes in – and now you know 😉

As usual, there’s a video as well. I saw the positive comments regarding the style of the last video, so I tried to adapt it to this one too. For lack of some good background, I decided to use AI for that, which I know is controversial, but in cases like these, I find it useful. The same goes for the Steel Samurai, which you can easily tell is also generated as well, but I simply couldn’t find a solo pic of him…

And that concludes this operation. I have mixed feelings about all this – song and video – but we’ll see where the journey goes from here.
