A few days late for our usual schedule, but just in time for the release of Super Mario Odyssey, here’s Super Mario Super Fun!

As you might have guessed (unless you’ve heard the preview last Sunday, then you should know), it’s a Super Mario Medley. The tunes featured are mostly songs I always wanted to include somewhere. Now I can check all of those off the list~

There is some connection, as most of them are from either Mario Party or a Mario Sports game (interestingly enough all of them from the 64 era…coincidence?):

• Starman – uh…just pick any main Mario game
• Rainbow Road – Mario Kart 64
• Faster Than All – Mario Party
• Move to the Mambo – Mario Party

Yes, I was somehow able to include Jump Up, Super Star. I just hope I did an ok job…here’s the song:

I barely made it in time, phew! It took so long, I even forgot to add some cool sound effects, like coins and jumps and such…maybe I’ll add that in the Best of version!

Anyway, now to work on this year’s Halloween mix, Night of the Spider! Don’t expect it before Tuesday though, the schedule is tight enough as it is!

Because I know that some of my followers prefer instrumental songs, I tailored together an instrumental version of Waves of Eternity. It’s shorter than the other version, because without the singing, there’s not that much happening~

It still features the same songs, Together We Ride, the Fire Emblem Main Theme and Lost in Thoughts All Alone from Fire Emblem Fates. Here we go:

I still plan on finishing a Super Mario Remix until next Sunday. I just didn’t feel so well the last few days and thus didn’t have the motivation to start on the new song yet, but I still hope I can get it done in time!

It took me a bit longer than expected, but at last I can present a new song: Waves of Eternity!

Fire Emblem Warriors is coming out soon, so I thought it would be a good occasion to make another FE remix. Personally I’m not too excited for the game, because I don’t really know what to expect from a game where Hinoka sounds like Diddy Kong…

…not to be disrespectful to the VA of course! I’m just saying~

Waves of Eternity features Together We Ride, the Fire Emblem Main Theme and Lost in Thoughts All Alone from Fire Emblem Fates. Now the special thing about the song is that it actually features Azura’s lovely singing voice, the more or less complete vocals of the latter (more or less because it doesn’t feature Shigure’s part and I left out a line of the bridge).

At this point I have to lower your expectations a bit. The vocals actually aren’t entirely ‘clean’ but in fact just the normal song where the instrumental version has been subtracted. It’s an interesting technique that you can use with the right tools and if you have the instrumental version available. But it usually leaves a fair amount of background noise. In this case it worked fairly well, so I wanted to give it a shot.

Working with vocals in general is rather difficult for me, so I hope I did an OK job. I think the vocals can be heard clearly – except for some sounds that can’t really be heard for some reason –  the instruments and beat aren’t too overpowering and Together We Ride and the accordion add some spice to the mix – in my opinion at least. So let’s hear it:

I’m thinking of making an instrumental version (at least for the Best of 2017 album), but it would be much shorter, since there isn’t nearly as much to show without the vocals. I gotta admit, the song turned out pretty long anyway…

Next up is a Super Mario remix. Super Mario Odyssey is coming out soon after all! And after that it’s finally time for this year’s Halloween mix~
