As it is tradition with VG Arch Rivals albums, there is a bonus track that can only be found on the album itself (and not downloaded in any other way).

As the title suggests, the third installment will have multiple bonus tracks…although not quite. There will be instrumental versions for those people who strictly don’t want anyone to talk during their musics because they think it’s annoying and/or distracting. This really only affects about 3 sound effects in two songs, so not that much of a deal.

A much bigger deal is Porky’s Solo. It’s an altered version of Ness vs Porky that only features Porky’s tunes. So it starts off the same way, but where you expect Eight Melodies to play, it skips right to Piggy Guys and extends that part a bit before it returns to Natural Killer Cyborg. Thus it retains the darker Porky feel throughout the whole song.

I also added some drums so the whole thing sounds more GROOOOOOVY (get it~). The additional ‘groove’ affects Ness vs Porky as well, which you’ll find on the album when it’s finished. Planned release for VG Arch Rivals Vol. 3 is October, 23rd. Better mark that date in your calendar~

Prepare yourself for the last (regular) entry of VG Arch Rivals Vol. 3!

And we’re ending this one with a very nice rivalry: Star Fox vs Star Wolf! For this mix I decided to go with Corneria (Star Fox), obviously the Star Wolf Theme (Star Fox 64) and the Star Fox Theme (Star Fox 64). I think that’s the most fitting songs, lots of electronic sounds for Fox McCloud and epic trumpets for Wolf O’Donnell.

I’ve been thinking about including Corneria from Star Fox Zero as well, since that’s a really epic tune, but it would have been pretty difficult to fit that into the mix, so…at least I thought about it~

Sorry to those who expected another Ace Attorney or something like that…but I’m certain this wasn’t the last “Arch rival month“. There’s still so many song ideas left, I’d love to do another one next year!

It’s time for the fourth entry of VG Arch Rivals Vol. 3!

And we’re giving the Mother series some well-deserved and long overdue love with Ness vs Porky/Pokey. The mix includes Piggy Guys (Mother 3), Pokey Means Business (EarthBound) and Natural Killer Cyborg (Mother 3) to represent Porky’s side, on the other hand we have Eight Melodies (EarthBound) and Pollyanna (Mother).

There’s a lot of great animations with amazing tunes about the Mother series, especially EarthBound, with tons of love put into it. For example, check out Porky, Pokey and Tears and POLLYANNA: An Animated Earthbound Tribute. Compared to these gems, this is just a little medley. Not even trying to compete here.

Still, this is actually my first remix featuring only songs from the Mother series (we had Electrocuted a good while ago, which was a Natural Killer Cyborg remix mixed with some surprisingly fitting Wily Stage music)*. I remember about 6-7 years ago, I tried to remix Pokey Means Business, but kinda failed. And now, we get this. I’d say it’s at least quite the medley, featuring so many notable songs, no? I gotta say: I’m satisfied. So let’s get down to business:
