On Days Like These

…kids like you…

…SHOULD BE BURNING IN HELL.

What a nice way to start off the presentation of a new remix, right? Prepare yourself for On Days Like These!

It’s a mix featuring both Last Battle from Cave Story and (you guessed it) Megalovania from Undertale. Now these tunes certainly make for an epic mix, no? I’d definitely say so. I think it was also a good decision to wait an additional week to get everything right.

So according to Sans, you should be burning in hell, which is actually a level in Cave Story. Both games were made by one person (some help might have been involved, but stop nit-picking~), both have nicknames (Daisuke “Pixel” Amaya and Toby “Radiation” Fox) and the list of similarities goes on and on…but most importantly, both games are great and have some really catchy music.

One more fact: Although nowadays most people would think of Undertale when they hear Megalovania, the song’s origins are elsewhere, as it already appeared in a Halloween hack of Earthbound and Homestuck (I did some research but…don’t ask me what exactly that is~).

Although I’m glad I waited an extra week to finish this song, my schedule is now kinda messed up. What to do…

Song preview

I do believe you were expecting a new song today…I’m afraid I’m not quite done yet. What I do have for you however, is a little preview of what’s going to happen: On Days Like These

 

I had that idea last week, it kinda struck me out of nowhere. Megalovania (Undertale) meets Last Battle (Cave Story).

That’s already all I have for you for now, but I’ll try to finish it by the next Sunday. I hope you’re at least a bit excited~

Night of the Poltergeist

Happy Halloween 2015!

Look at that table…did that just move by itself? This time it is the Night of the Poltergeist and his companions, and where those are involved, nothing is as it seems!

Naturally I included tunes from Luigi’s Mansion (Main Theme) and Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon (Paranormal Chaos), but there’s also a huge portion of Wicked Child (Castlevania) and Mining Melancholy (Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest) in this one, going with the trend from last year (where I included Enchanted Forest) that DKC2 tunes make a good addition to Halloween mixes. Haunted Mansion (Kirby Triple Deluxe) as the song’s intro makes the mix complete.

It made me a bit sad that I wasn’t able to include Phantom Ensemble, but on the other hand we had that a little while ago (Disciple of the Sound) anyway. Oh well!

And that’s that. I’d tell you what comes next, but I’m not exactly sure. There’s still some things planned, but the year is almost over already. There’s only time for three more songs before this year’s X-Mas mix. One thing I definitely want to do is something for Mario’s 30th anniversary, I was thinking something like that.
