Are you ready for the fourth entry of Sounds Alike? No? Yes? It doesn’t matter, here we go:Shin Megami Tensei: Mega Man Moonwalker – Natural Beat Robot

That logo turned out to be such a mess. But there’s a good reason for that: we’ve got 4 different themes this time! Most of them have at least one very similar sounding part. We’ve got the Boss Theme from Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner, Natural Killer Cyborg from Mother 3, Wily Stage 1 from Mega Man 2 and Michael Jackson’s Beat It.

Long-time fans probably remember Electrocuted, which already included 2 of those themes. This is certainly a step up though. I’m especially happy that I was able to include the Devil Summoner Boss Theme there. I like the tune, so I tried to start sequencing it to make a remix of it. Sadly, that didn’t really go so well…but that doesn’t matter now, since I was able to include my favorite part in a song after all!

Only one more to go! The finale is something I wanted to do for a while now. I don’t think it’s gonna be easy, but as usual I’ll try my best! I think you’ll appreciate it. We’ll see in two weeks!

Blast Kongs – Bad Boss Plateau

Some years ago, I made a song called Blast Kong. It was the same combination of songs, but it sounds completely different from what you’re about to hear. The combination I’m talking about is Bad Boss Boogie from Donkey Kong Land and Jade Plateau (Skerries) from Blast Corps.

Now here’s the thing: this is kind of an exception for this series. Not only do they sound very similar, they were also composed by the same guy, so they’re…essentially the same song? Well – one being a boss theme and the other being a racing track with a mini game kind of feel – I’d say they are at least quite different versions of the same tune.

Another thing to note is that I couldn’t resist to add some robotic sounding DK Rap parts as well. It kind of fits if you think “Kongs” are the machines the corporation uses to destroy stuff. Or the ones piloting the machines. Whatever works! BUT don’t worry, there’s of course an instrumental version as well! So here we go:

In the meantime I got another set of suggestions, I’d say we’re definitely set for a Sounds Alike Vol. 2. VG Arch Rivals isn’t done yet either and other ideas also already crossed my mind…then again, making more than one album per year is kinda tiring. Well, I’d say there’s still enough ideas in my mind for years to come!

Touhou X5 – Lunatic Stage 2 ~ Invisible Zero Virus

I think I’ve done this 2 or 3 times before, but it just had to come back one more time for Sounds Alike. Zero Virus Stage 2 (Mega Man X5) meets Lunatic Eyes ~ Invisible Full Moon (Touhou 8: Imperishable Night).
