After the last song, the website was experiencing technical difficulties for several weeks, rendering me unable to upload songs, or post literally anything. So I couldn’t even tell anyone about it here!

But you might notice that everything is working again – so we have a little bit of catch up to do. Although the summary is short enough: VG Arch Rivals Remastered – in the spirit of remastering my old songs, this is an album dedicated to remastering a bunch of song from VG Arch Rivals Vol. 1 and Vol. 2.

And it’s basically done by now, there are seven songs and we’re only a week away from the official album release. So here they are:

Keep in mind that the album versions of the songs might sound different, I’m currently trying to add a little more spice to some of them. The official album release (as usual on Bandcamp) is scheduled for next Sunday. The album itself will be available for free, so I hope you’ll check it out!

It’s time for another new song, today we listen to the Howl of the Snow Wolf!

When making this mix, I thought about combining different themes that would fit a Japanese-themed snow wolf character, which is where the name of the song comes from. Usually I name the song after the tunes that appear in it, but this time I went the other direction. The only actual snow wolf theme in the song, Blizzard Wolfang Stage (Mega Man X6), was actually added “last minute” (not quite that drastically, but I hope you get the idea) to give the song name some sense.

The more prominent themes are Surrender Robot Dharumanyo and Transformed Oedo Castle from Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon. I don’t know if the boss theme has an actual name, I couldn’t find any reliable info on that, so I just used the name of the boss. There seems to be some consensus on that idea on the interwebz at least.

There’s so many songs I started to work on…it’s gonna be difficult to decide which one to finish next.

I can’t get anything done during this freaking heat wave – I’m mostly busy trying to keep my room as cool as possible, ugh. But I don’t want to leave you hanging for so long – so I found this cool tune I made back in 2014, but never officially published, which I do now using the new name Dangerous Heroics.

The reason it was never officially published was that it was made for VanishingSVST‘s (now TamagoSoup) animated Pokémon series. The series has been pretty much abandoned in favor of other projects, so this cool tune was just lying around (among others) waiting for some recognition.

So far so good, but: turns out the project file disappeared! ;__;

I don’t want to say I lost it, but it’s not in the folder where it should be – where all the other project files for that series are. And I couldn’t find it anywhere else either…it’s a shame, really. For that reason I couldn’t remove the Pokéball sound effect and the Reshiram cry at the start, so we’ll just take this as part of the song (which it was originally anyway):

For the same reason I couldn’t make a beat-animated video either…on the bright side, at least the upload didn’t take half a day this time 😉

I really hope this heat wave ends soon, this heat is killing me… x__x
