Would you look at the date, it’s Christmas again! Time for another X-Mas Mix I’d say!
And while thematically the tunes I used have nothing to do with Christmas or winter or anything, it definitely feels like it – I hope you’ll agree when you listen to Floating Serenity:
In other news, there will be a Discord fan server soon! I’ll be gone for a bit to celebrate Christmas with my family, but will be back in a few days to officially release the link to the server to the public. Hope to see you there π
Oh hi there – long time no see! Wait, that’s my fault? Huh…oh would you look at the date, I think it’s time for this year’s X-Mas Mix! Brace yourself for Homekoming!
The Snowmads meet K. Rool and the crew in this mix that doesn’t care that it’s an X-Mas Mix – no chilling allowed, let’s get LOUD! To name the songs that you can expect: we got Homecoming Hijinx (Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze), K. Rool Returns (title theme from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest) and a very short bit from the Island Map theme, Welcome to Crocodile Isle.
Without further ado, let’s hear it:
The video was actually a Premiere this time, thank you to all of you who watched it with me. It was kind of a spontaneous idea, so sorry for the short notice – but I feel like we should do this more often, it sure was fun!
I do love the DK stuff, and I don’t think I can pull off another final mix in time this year. So let this be the final bang of 2020, I think it’s worthy of that title.
Now I feel like doing some rambling, so if ya wanna here it, keep reading – otherwise you can skip right to the end π
It sure was an odd year, this one – didn’t get much done of the things that I wanted to get done. Oof. That actually has nothing to do with the whole virus situation, in case you were wondering. Just kind of felt like taking a step back and it was harder to get back to it than I expected.
Sticking to a schedule is hard, especially if you’re doing creative stuff. But if you just let it slide every time you’ll get nothing done. At least for me that’s how it is. That’s why we got the April Fools’ mix, Halloween Mix and X-Mas Mix, but barely anything else this time…that’s not even close enough for a Best Of album this year!
I do have some half-finished mixes in the back and some tunes that I could turn into a full mix – and some remakes I really want to do. But the Best Of mixes are still a thing as well, can’t just let that single one stand there like that. You see, there’s enough stuff to keep going, might even upload something again soon. Maybe if I promise I’ll actually do it? Ok, First week of January it is then. Thanks for reading through my rambling, now let’s wrap this up.
I wish all of you a Merry Christmas, and if you don’t hear from me in a month: send Link! π
I’m back with a little big site update! The website now features a radio station that plays my songs 24/7, created and maintained by loyal fan Bj007pro. Positioning might change in the future, but for now it should be on the right side, if your screen/window is large enough ->
I hacked together some changes so that the website also uses more space on bigger displays. Although this makes the site a little less compact and the header image cannot fully extend to this size, this gives the radio widget considerably more space to breathe. It’s not perfect and I have no idea how it looks on mobile (because I personally very rarely use that) but if it has less bugs than your typical open world Bethesda game, it’s fine by me.
You can also open the radio station in its own window – or even get an app for it (no idea how that works though, I’m just a desktop guy) – whatever is most convenient for you. Please enjoy!
I know I’ve been quiet for a few months now, but I’m still here, trying to reignite my spark to make more music. Although the pandemic would have made a convenient excuse, it actually has nothing to do with that. Just kinda lost my mojo – I feel like it might just take a little while to get back to creating stuff. At the very least I’ll be back for this year’s Halloween special. Thank you for your patience π
